Been away for a while.
Took a well earned sabbatical year from teaching in institutions from Feb 2014 to Feb 2015.
In that year started to study cello. Travelled to Italy and Mallorca for hot sea and sand and sun and Denmark for conferences and future planning.
August 2014
But most importantly, in August 2014 I made ‘WAITING FOR THE FLOOD’ in collaboration with Deadbeat Films and Todd Speakman.
Review of WAITING FOR THE FLOOD:
‘A beautifully evocative and poignant art film short in which images of clothes and characters illuminate the voiceover stories of drowning and flooding. A unusual and immersive structure which slips between memory, re-enactment and a sublime choreography, using a pool and its edge, on-off frame dynamic and a mix of lurid and rural colour as the metaphors for loss and reclamation. An interesting collaboration between the artist and film-makers‘.
