Loss, 2022

Three-week residency at Heart of the Tribe Gallery, Somerset

This project was a direct response to the collective sense of loss that lingered in the air during 2022 — from the passing of the Queen to the residual weight of the pandemic. There was a shared unease, a quiet grief beneath the surface.

Over two weekends, I created a site-specific participatory piece that invited members of the public to speak with me one-to-one in a safe and reflective space. Across 160 conversations, each encounter was distilled into a single sentence and recorded in chalk on a blackboard — creating a cumulative portrait of loss in many forms.
